Ghana: Bridge and Road Project
The project was based in three separate areas in northern Ghana, with distances of more than 280 km between them. This placed high demands on logistics and the allocation of machinery and personnel.
At the start of the project, two construction sites/camps were established, including offices, staff facilities, a concrete batching plant, and our own water supply and power generation systems. In addition, a fully equipped mechanical workshop, steel workshop, and laboratory for geotechnical, aggregate, and concrete testing were set up. The construction site was primarily built using containers and temporary structures.
In addition to the contractual works, Munck Civil Engineering focused on implementing its CSR strategy for the benefit of the surrounding communities. It was therefore natural for the organisation to plan and carry out CSR projects that helped improve the general living standards of the local population. With a focus on social responsibility, a major voluntary effort was devoted, among other things, to improving the area’s water supply by drilling and establishing a number of wells for remote communities. Furthermore, a number of smaller renovation and construction projects were carried out at local schools, mosques, clinics, and hospitals, including extensive renovation of the hospital in Sandema.
